Once Daily Cialis?

Maybe I'm missing something here, but I thought that Cialis' claim to fame was that one tablet lasts 36 hours. Apparently, these new dosages (once daily comes in 2.5mg or 5mg) can be taken once daily every day, so that you're "ready any time the moment is right."

Again... Call me crazy, but I don't understand this. If regular cialis works just fine when you take it as needed, and it lasts up to 36 hours, then what's the point of taking a tablet EVERY DAY? Who would want to take a medication every day when you only have to take it as needed?

Are drug companies starting to run out of ideas?

Because they're angling for another indication besides ED - see also Revatio nee Viagra.

My prediction is that Lilly is about to get a monster indication that will have men running to their internists and cardiologists like never before - because tadalafil is going to become a treatment for another condition with a side effect of boners, a totally different side effect profile than other agents in the therapeutic category, and one that said men will find highly desirable.

Oh. And insurance will cover the qd tadalafil, when it's not called Cialis.

They're advertising it as Cialis though, and they're targeting men with erectile dysfunction. There's no way in hell, they're going to get Once daily Cialis onto anyone's formulary.

Too late, Mike. I've already seen one of the PBM's cover it at a copay, yet they won't cover some generics....go figure.

Someone tell me this is where the name came from: if you have erectile dysfunction, all you have to do is See Alice.

Someone taking 5mg qd called me at work yesterday asking if he could take viagra as well. I told him it could kill him, I think he did it anyways (or before he called me)

I had this terrible terrible urge to type the equivalent of the "penis game" from high school.

So. Once a day cialis was covered somewhere but a woman with dysmenorrhea needs to get a PA, despite covering some generic BC costs ohh so much less than 6 tabs of viagra every 30 days.

Uhm, once a day Cialis would be covered by insurance PBMs because of kickbacks.

"Aetna, if you put X drug on your formulary, we will share X% of the profits with you."
"That sounds illegal"
"It's not illegal" [jedi hand wave]
